William T. Armstrong, 85, of Randolph, passed away Thursday, December 19th, 2013 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown. William was born in Scranton, PA and has resided in Randolph since 1961. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, from 1950-1952. He worked as a Technical Writer at Bell Labs in Whippany, retiring in 1989 after 35 years. William was an active member of the Millbrook United Methodist Church in Randolph. He was Senior Citizen of the Year in 2005; member of the Randolph Fire Department Engine Co. #2 since 1972 and Department Chief 1972 - 1975; president of the Randolph Fire Department Relief Association 1991- 2005. Survived by Joyce, his wife of 62 years; four children Michael and his wife Mary Jane of FL, William and his wife June of SC, Nancy Burbridge and her husband Thomas of Randolph and Robert and his wife Victoria of PA. Also survived by nine grandchildren Jason, Brian, Ryan, George, Michael, Alisa, Travis, Courtney, and Stacey and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday, December 22nd, 2013, 2:00 -6:00 p.m. at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com ). Funeral Services will be held at the Millbrook United Methodist Church, 246 Millbrook Ave., Randolph, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 23rd, 2013. Interment to follow at Millbrook Cemetery, Randolph. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Millbrook United Methodist Church, 246 Millbrook Ave., Randolph, NJ 07869 or Randolph Fire Department Engine Co. #2, 340 Rte. 10 Randolph, NJ 07869.
