While she was singing in a night club in upstate New York a man walked in and told the manager of the club he wanted to know who that woman was because he was going to marry her. That was her husband of 53 years, Richard Cadmus, who predeceased her in 2008. She additionally is survived by 2 great-grandchildren: Ryan and Jeffrey Merrick. Also surviving is her great Aunt Dorothy McCorkle. Jeanne leaves behind her “angel” Sylvia (Grace) A-Allotey who took care of her every need and was her constant companion. Her brother James, Jr. and sister Jaqueline also predeceased her.
Jeanne was active in many organizations including the Presbyterian Church of Morristown, the PTA & Wildcat Midget Football Cheerleading. Alongside her husband she was also active in many of the Masonic Brotherhood’s appendages: DeMolay Mother’s Club, Order of Rainbow for Girls & the Valley of Northern New Jersey Scottish Rite.
