Obituary of Herbert Walter Goddard

Loving Father, Husband, Grandfather and Great Grandfather Herbert Walter Goddard, 85, of Cedar Knolls, passed away peacefully in his sleep, on Saturday, December 14th, 2013. Born in Rosedale, NY, Herb was a Randolph resident for 50 years, before moving to Cedar Knolls. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson Vocational High School, and the Pratt Institute. He began his career at Cameron Machine Company in Brooklyn, NY, in 1946. He relocated to Dover with the company in 1954 and retired in 1994 after 48 years of service. He served as Plant Manager and retired as Purchasing Manager. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Dover, for 58 years. Herb enjoyed spending time with his family, he was known for his dry sense of humor, and was an avid Yankees fan. He is survived by, Gertrude (nee Alefeld), his wife of 63 years, his children Peter Goddard, of Seattle, WA, Chris Gibbs and husband Harry of Byram, NJ, Ron Goddard and wife Cathy of Dallas, TX, four grandchildren David Goddard and wife Angie Kraus, Lori Goddard, Stephen Gibbs and wife Nicole, Sean Gibbs and fiancé Kelly Rose, and his great granddaughter Maeve Goddard. Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 17th, 2013 at 4PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Dover. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 123 East Blackwell Street, Dover, NJ 07801. Arrangements by Tuttle Fuenral Home (www.tuttlefh.com).
