Herbert Lindtveit, 90, of Randolph, NJ, passed away Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011 at Compassionate Care Hospice, Dover, NJ following a short illness. Born in New York, NY. Herbert has been a resident of Randolph since 2007, resided in Southold, NY for 17 years and prior to that he lived in West Hempstead, NY. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Greenport, NY. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He worked as Vice-President at Sid Harvey Inc., Valley Stream, NY., and retired in 1986 after 48 years. Herbert is survived by two sons Herbert E. and his wife Carol of New Bern, NC and Kirby and his wife Doris of Williamsburg, VA; two daughters Catherine Liberman and her husband Howard of Rockaway, NJ and Margaret Whitney and her husband Willard of Wyckoff, NJ; and 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and his brother Theodore Lindtveit and his wife Peg of West Hurley, NY. Also survived by and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Catherine in 2010. Visitation Sunday, February 6th, 2011, 1 - 5 PM. at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph, NJ (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Services will also be held on Sunday, at 5 PM. Interment will be on Monday, February 7th, 2011, 1:30 PM at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY.. Family and friends who wish to attend the graveside service will meet at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in his memory to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Attn: Tribute Gifts, Church Street Station, PO Box 780, New York, NY 10008-0780.
