Violet M. Metz, 79, of Mine Hill, passed away Friday, December 31st, 2010, at Saint Clares Hospital, Dover, following a long illness. Violet was born in Roxbury Township and has been a resident of Mine Hill since 1963, prior to that she resided in Succasunna. She worked as a Secretary at Picatinny Arsenal, Rockaway Township, retired in 1986 after 30 years. Member of Pearl Chapter #79, O.E.S. of Dover since 1971. She was a Past Matron, Past Grand Officer, and was also District Chairperson for various charity projects over the years. Violet is survived by her husband Willard L. Sr.; son Willard L. Jr. and wife Mary of Succasunna and daughter Debra Miller of Budd Lake. She is also survived by six grandchildren William Metz, John Syfor, Harmony McDonald, Jeffrey Pulver, William Miller, and Maxx Miller; three great-grandchildren Jackson McDonald, Violet Pulver, and Ian Pulver. Predeceased by her daughter Bonnie Pulver in 2001. Visitation Thursday, January 6th, 2011, 3-5 & 7-9 P.M. at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, January 7th, 2011. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Randolph.
