Obituary of Charles E. Jacobson

Charles E. Jacobson, 92, entered eternal life on Friday, December 13, 2013. Charles, the son of the late John E. and Emmy (Pearson) Jacobson was born in Arlington, NJ and lived in Dumont and Rockaway before becoming a resident of Cedar Crest in Pompton Plains. Prior to moving to Cedar Crest, he was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Morris Plains. He was the Chaplain for NARFE William J. Ryan Chapter 0424 of Dover and the editor of the newsletter.
He served in the U.S. Army in WWII in North Africa (Algeria and Tunisia) and Italy. A graduate of Newark College of Engineering, now a part of the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Charles earned his Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees from NCE in Chemical Engineering and was Chief of Artillery and Mortar R&D at Picatinny Arsenal, Dover.
Charles and the Love of his Life, Uliana (Julie) were married in Pistoia, Tuscany, Italy, in her parish church and enjoyed 66 years of happiness. Their marriage resulted in their children Carla Levesque (Walter), Susan Lindstedt, John (Evelyn), and nine cherished grandchildren John Michael, Jessica R., Laura, Nicholas, Douglas, Robert, Jessica A., Matthew, and Michael and three great-grandchildren Emma, Ethan, and Greyson.
Charles was a proud life member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion John H. Lookhoff Post #242 of Pompton Plains.
Visitation will be Monday, December 16th, 2013, 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10, West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Service will also be at the funeral home 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17th, 2013. Interment will follow at the Arlington Cemetery, Kearny.
