Obituary of Stephen Ronald Powell

Stephen Ronald Powell, 73, of Wall, Twp., NJ, formerly of Dover, NJ, died Thursday November 18, 2010 at Care One at Wall in Wall, NJ. Born in Munson, PA, he lived in Wharton, NJ & Dover, NJ, before moving to Wall Twp. 18 months ago. Mr. Powell was a Parts Manager for Vey Cadillac in Rockaway for over 30 years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy Reserve and was a horse racing enthusiast. He owned and trained trotters for 35 years, which he raced at numerous tracks in the tri-state area. Mr. Powell was pre-deceased by his first wife Joan M. Powell and is survived by 3 sons, Ronald of Arlington, VA, Darren & his wife Kathleen of Flemington, NJ and Jamie of Somerset, NJ; 2 daughters, Kathleen Osgoodby & her husband Marc of Avon by the Sea, NJ and Jennifer Estwin & her husband George of Hopatcong, NJ; 1 sister, Marlene Swisher of Victor, MT and 7 grand daughters. The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Sunday, November 21, 2010 from 1 to 2:30 pm at the Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10, Randolph, NJ, with a service to follow at 2:30 pm. Cremation was private and under the direction of the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South Street in Manasquan, NJ.
