Robert J. Jordan Sr. 67, of Randolph, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2013 at Morristown Medical Center, Morristown. Robert was born in the Bronx and grew up in Brooklyn, NY. He has been a resident of Randolph since 1982.
He worked as a Corrections Officer for Morris County and retired as a Corporal from the Morris County Correctional Facility in 2004 after 19 years.
Prior to that he was a Special Police Officer for the City of Orange. He also served as a Hostage Negotiator for the Morris County Sheriff's Department. He was also the owner of the Final Exam and Jordan's in Randolph, and managed Dodds Orange, Dunes Til Dawn and the Avon Inn. Member of the PBA Locals 298 and 600 and the West Morris YMCA, he was also a republican committeeman. He also coached Randolph Bulldogs Footballenjoyed boating on Lake Hopatcong.
Survived by Karen, his wife of 28 years; three sons Phillip of Bayonne, Robert J. Jr. and his wife Eileen of Staten Island, NY, and Michael J. of Randolph; two daughters Helena Cortes of Port Richie, FL and Nicole Marie Jordan and her fiancé' Donald Bennett of Randolph. Also survived by five grandchildren Krystina, Brittany, Alexandria, Robert J. III and Nicholas and one niece Geanine Haddad and her husband David and his dog Mabel. Predeceased by his father Salvatore Jordan and his mother and stepfather Helen and Phil Ciccone and his sister Louisa Riccardi.
Visitation Sunday, December 8th, 2013, 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Mass Monday, December 9th, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Resurrection Parish, Randolph (973-895-4224). Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to The Association of Miraculous Medal, 1811 West St. Joseph St., Perryville, MO 63775.
