Robert W. Avila, 94, of Roxbury Township passed away Tuesday, September 28th, 2010 at home, following a long illness. He was born in Hoboken. Resident of Roxbury Township, previously resided in Rutherford.
He served in the U.S. Army during WW II.
He worked as a Machinist for the U.S. Postal Service, Jersey City.
Survived by daughter Michelle Scasserra and husband Costantino, grandson Dominick, and sister Caroline Eissner. Predeceased by his wife Margaret in 1977.
Visitation Thursday, September 30, 2010, 5 - 9 P.M. at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Graveside Service will be held at Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst (201-438-1612), Friday, October 1st, 2010, 11:00 A.M..
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons Street, PO Box 7, East Syracuse,, NY 13057.
