John Kovach Sr. John Kovach Sr., 93, of Boonton, passed away Sunday, September 12th, 2010 at the N.J. Firemen's Home, Boonton. Born in Garfield, he has been a resident of Boonton since 2008. Previously resided in Randolph most of his life. He worked as millwrighter at Brennan Company, Kearny, and retired in 1974 after 35 years. Member since 1939 of Randolph Chemical Engine Company No. 2 where he served as department chief in 1953 and township chief in 1954. He was co-founder and past captain of the Millbrook Rescue Squad. Sixty-five year member of Acacia Lodge No. 20 F. & A.M. of Dover. Survived by seven children: John Jr. and wife Judy of Flanders, Patricia Van Wagoner of N.Y.C., NY, Joan Mackenzie and husband Chuck of FL, Ralph and wife Mona of Byram, Richard of FL, Robert and wife Janice of Dover, and Shari Sweedy and husband Greg of Randolph. Also survived by fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his first wife Audrey in 1944 and his second wife Betty in 1987. Visitation Wednesday, September 15th, 2010, 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home Thursday, September 16th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. (www.tuttlefh.com). Interment will follow at Millbrook Cemetery, Randolph. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in his memory to Randolph Chemical Engine Co. No. 2, 340 Route 10, Randolph, NJ 07869 or the New Jersey Firemen's Home, 565 Lathrop Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005.
