Mechanical and Chemical Engineer,WWII Army Veteran
Edward A. Skettini, a 45 year resident of Rockaway Township, passed away surrounded by his loving family at Saint Clare’s Hospital on November 26, 2013. Born September 24, 1923, in Paterson to Gilda and Andrew Skettini. Ed graduated from NJIT College of Engineering in 1948 after proudly serving in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked at Picatinny Arsenal for 35 years, retiring in 1983 and co-authored several scientific research papers published by the Defense Technical Information Center. Ed was an extremely compassionate man and selfless man whose family was his first priority. He was also a longtime parishioner of St. Clements Pope and Martyr Church, Rockaway Township.
Ed is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Adair E., beloved children Kathleen A. Bailey and husband Roger of Millstone, Lauren M. Baker, of Rockaway, Paul E. of Bedminster, and precious granddaughter, Gina M. Baker. He also leaves behind his dear sister, Emma Vilardi, eight nephews, seven great-nephews and eleven great-nieces.
Visitation is 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). A Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at St. Clements Pope and Martyr Church, 154 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Rockaway Township. Interment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
