Carl A. Floether, 93 of Dover, passed away on Sunday, November 24th, 2013 a the Regency Grande Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Dover after a short illness. Born in Thalheim, Germany, Carl moved to Dover from Germany in 1923 and has lived there most of his life. He graduated from Dover High School in 1938 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Carl worked as a machinist at Stapling Machines Co. in Rockaway, retiring in 1984 after 44 years. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Succasunna, The Dover Seniors and Germania Park in Dover. He is survived by his son, William C. of Dover, his niece Barbara Ohlsen and his nephews, Herbert Boehm and Robert Floether, as well as several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Helen A. (nee Kirk) in 2006 and his son Carl Jr. in 1997. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 29th, 2013 from 3 to 7PM at Tuttle Funeral Home in Randolph. www.Tuttlefh.com . The funeral service will be on Saturday, November 30th, 2013 at 9:30AM, also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to: The Redeemer Lutheran Church, 203 Eyland Ave., Succasunna, NJ 07876.
