John George Papalos John George Papalos, 79, of Summit, passed away suddenly at home, Monday, May 24th, 2010. He was a member of St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, Randolph. Born in Mesta Chios, Greece, John moved here from Greece as a young man. He received his U.S. Citizenship by serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He earned his Masters Degree in Organic Chemistry at Texas Wesleyan University. He worked as a Organic Research Chemist at Henkel in Morristown. Retired in 1996 after 32 years. He achieved more than 24 patents throughout his career. He was a longstanding member of AHEPA. John is survived by his son Michael John Papalos and his wife Michelle of Milburn, his daughter Ann Lemon and her husband William of St. Louis, MO, and his granddaughter Evangelina. Also survived by his brother Stamo Papaliodis of Houston, TX and his sister Kay Mandalakas of Pittsburgh, PA. Predeceased by his son Theodore in 1995 and his brother Nick and his sister Maria. Visitation Thursday, May 27th, 3 - 5 & 7 - 9 p.m. at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Services will be held at St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church (973-584-0388), 1447 Sussex Turnpike, Randolph at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 28th. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Chester. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to: The Order of AHEPA Chapter 300 for the John G. Papalos Science Scholarship c/o Michael Bigger, 5 Cathy Lane, Flanders, NJ 07836.
