Obituary of Milton Bernard Freedman

After enduring a lengthy illness, Mr. Milton B. Freedman, 82, of Randolph passed away on March 14, 2010 surrounded by his loving family at Hospice of Palm Beach, FL. He was born June 22, 1927, in New York City. After serving in World War II, Mr. Freedman began working as a mail carrier for the New York City Post Office. He and his wife Rose moved to Randolph Township in 1958 after completing the home they had spent five years of weekends and vacations building by themselves. He transferred to the Morristown Post Office, where he worked his way up to Assistant Superintendent before retiring in 1972 to start M. Freedman Contracting. Mr. Freedman was a familiar presence at many Randolph Senior Citizen events. He was a member of the Randolph VFW and an Associate Board Member at Century Village, West Palm Beach, Fla. He and Rose traveled extensively, visiting numerous countries, and spent many years enjoying vacations at their timeshare at the Playa Linda in Aruba. He leaves his loving wife of 60 years, Rose; four children and their spouses, Susan and Tom Miller, Steve and Terri Freedman, Ken and Diane Freedman and Nancy and Jim Walsh; plus eight grandchildren, Justin, Lindsey and Laura Freedman, Laura, Jamie, Justin, Ryan and Matthew Walsh. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Tina Freedman. He will be missed by all who knew him for his wit, wisdom, common sense and tremendous and unconditional love for his family, friends and community. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 from 7:00- 9:00 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com) A graveside service will be on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the Mt. Freedom Hebrew Cemetery, Randolph, 101 South Road (Mendham). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to: The American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons St., P.O. Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057.
