George Henry "Hank" Cooke
Mr. George Henry "Hank" Cooke, 88, of Hanover Township passed away Tuesday, March 2nd, at home. Resident of Hanover Township since 1961, previously resided in Springfield and Roselle Park, born in Renovo, PA.
Graduated from Roselle Park High School in 1939, attended University of Idaho and left to enlist in the US Army Signal Corps. and was stationed in Okinawa during WWII.
He worked as a Senior Designer in the Contract Drafting Department at Foster Wheeler Corporation, Livingston and retired in 1985 after 24 years.
Member of Hildale Park Presbyterian Church, Cedar Knolls where he served as an Elder and on the Property Committee. Longtime member of Morris Radio Club. Member of American Radio Relay League, National Rifle Association, and Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
Avid scuba diver, marksman, skier, pilot, photographer and canoeist. Lifelong ham radio operator (W2LOP), and was a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America.
Survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia "Pat" M. (nee Ambrose); two daughters Cynthia Cooke of Belvidere, Deborah Kleinsorgen and husband Eric of Succasunna, one son Douglas Cooke of Steubenville, OH; two granddaughters Allyson and Jacklyn, one brother Richard "Casey" Cooke and his wife Audrey of Belgrade, ME, one niece Leslie Crosby and her husband Curt of Edgecomb, ME, one nephew Carl Cooke and his wife Dee of Belgrade, MD and also many grandnieces and grandnephews.
Predeceased by his parents George W. and Margaret K. Cooke and his brother 1st Lt. Carl Frederick Cooke, who died while serving in WWII.
Visitation Saturday, March 6th, 2 - 6 p.m. at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com).
Memorial Service Sunday, March 7th, 3:00 p.m. at Hildale Park Presbyterian Church, 85 Ridgedale Avenue, Cedar Knolls.
