Obituary of Margaret L. Waters

Margaret L. Waters, who recently celebrated her 97th birthday with her daughter, brother, grandchildren and great grandchildren, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones, on Saturday, February 25, 2017. She is remembered for her love and devotion to her family, friends and church. Margaret was fiercely loyal to those she loved and caring to everyone she met. She was born and raised in Dover, NJ to her parents, Fortunato & Emilia Lombardi, with her seven brothers and sisters. She graduated from Dover High School and began her career at Picatinny Arsenal, Rockaway where she worked for over 27 years. She was married to Captain Francis A. Waters with whom she had two daughters, Kathy & Karen. Margaret was an active lifelong member of the Sacred Heart Church and was a member and past president of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member of the Sacred Heart Leisure Club and the Rosary Society. Margaret is survived by her daughter Kathy Turkewitz and her husband David of York, PA; her brother Andrew Lombardi; three grandchildren Alyssa and her husband Dr. Caleb Campbell of Concord, NH, Andrew John Turkewitz of Hamden, CT and Dr. Mark Turkewitz of Columbia, SC and three great-grandchildren Caleb, Ella Karen and William John Campbell. She is predeceased by her husband Captain Francis A. Waters in 1961 and her daughter Karen Waters in 1974. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 3, 2017, from 2:00-4:00PM and again from 6:00-8:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). A Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 10:00AM at Sacred Heart Church, Dover. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover. The family has requested that flowers be sent to Tuttle Funeral Home or a donation be made in Margaret’s memory to Sacred Heart Parish, Dover.
