Obituary of Hedy Shoolis

Hedy Shoolis, 84, of Martinsville, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at her home. She was born in Patra, Greece and has been a resident of Martinsville for over 25 years. She was the Owner/Manager of Hedy’s Diner, Hillside from 1972 until 1986. She then went on to manage a few other diners for many years and retired at the age of 77. Hedy’s heart was in the diner business and she loved good food. She enjoyed gardening but most of all she loved her family. She is survived by her daughter Irene Makris and her son-in-law Dimitrios of Martinsville and five grandchildren Michael, Steven, Georgia, Sophia and Hedy. She is predeceased by her husband Steven in 2000, daughter Patricia Makris and son Charles Shoolis. Visitation Monday, December 12, 2016 from 6:00-8:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10, Randolph (tuttlefh.com). Funeral Service Tuesday, December 13, 2016, 10:00AM at St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, Randolph. Interment to follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Bridgewater.
