Obituary of Robert G Leonardi

Robert G. Leonardi, 90, of Long Valley, passed away Monday, November 28th, after a Long Illness, at Compassionate Care Hospice, Dover. Robert was born in New York, NY on June 16, 1926, he was a resident of Randolph for 53 years and a resident of Long Valley for the last 4 years. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II as an infantryman in the 103rd infantry division. He worked as a Mechanical Engineer for Picatinny Arsenal, Rockaway, He was a service officer for NARFE for 35 years. He was also a member of the VFW post #2833 of Kenvil. The American Legion William Hedges Baker Post 27 of Dover and the Knights of Columbus Lafayette Council 514 of Dover. He was an avid Yankee fan and he loved cars, but mostly he was known as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Robert is survived by his wife Theresa of 66 years, two daughters, Barbara Andreassen and her husband Philip of Brevard, NC, Jan Bednar and her husband Bob of Long Valley, three grandchildren, David Bednar and his wife Larissa, Mark Bednar and his wife Jessica and Timothy Bednar, one great granddaughter Maeve, he is also survived by one niece and three nephews.
