Doris E. Smith, 98, of Budd Lake, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Compassionate Care Hospice at Saint Clare’s Hospital, Dover. She was formerly of Dover, and a retired school teacher at the Academy Street School in Dover. Doris was the eldest child of Duncan C. and Ruth G. Smith, Sr. She was predeceased by her siblings, Duncan C. Smith, Jr., F. Brownlee Smith, Virginia DeGroat, Shirley Lopez, and Barbara Smith. She is survived by her brother, Austin D. Smith of Wharton and her nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her cousins and sister-in-law. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held 10:00AM on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover. Donations in her memory may be made to the Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation, Inc., 350 Sparta Avenue, Bldg B, Suite 2, Sparta, NJ 07871.
