Robert D. Sammond, 65, of Denville, passed away on June 6, 2016. Born in Bayonne, he moved at an early age to North Caldwell, where he graduated from West Essex Regional High School. After graduating from Rutgers University, where he met his wife Karen of 42 years he settled in Randolph, from where he traveled worldwide while pursuing a career in the Chemical and Nuclear Engineering fields. Returning to college he obtained a 2nd degree in Computer Technologies and embarked on a new career in the nascent field of Information Technologies culminating in a 20-year career with Automatic Data Processing at their Roseland offices from which he retired as the Director of Configuration Management. In addition to his loving wife Karen, he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Colleen Sammond, brother and sister-in-law James and Deborah Schultz and numerous nephews, including James, Mark, Matthew and Craig Schultz and Brian, Jason and Brent Sammond. Visitation Thursday, June 9, 2016, 3:00-5:00PM & 7:00-9:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Mass Friday, June 10, 2016, 10:00AM at St. Matthew the Apostle Parish, Randolph.
