Obituary of Charles H. Coe

Charles H. Coe, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 29, 2016. Born in Newark, he was a resident of Mt. Arlington, for 58 years before moving to Jensen Beach, FL. Charles was a Korean War Veteran having proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1956. He began his law enforcement career with the New Jersey State Police from 1958-1984, retiring after 26 years as a Major. After retirement, Charles became the Chief of Detectives with the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office from 1984-1991. He continued his career by serving as the Director of the Morris County Fire and Police Academy from 1991-1995. Charles is predeceased by his parents, Charles S. and Julia Coe, and his brother, Attilio Coe. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Madeline (Donofrio); his daughter, Kathryn (Coe) Baker from Venice, FL, and her husband Kere; his son, Charles Coe from Hackettstown, and his wife, Margaret (Sullivan); and four grandchildren, Kim (DeTombeur) D’Aversa and her husband, Jon; Kyle DeTombeur, Victoria Coe, and Charles Coe. He also is survived by several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Charles’ life will include a Memorial Visitation from 3:30PM-5:30PM with a Memorial Service at 5:30PM on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10, Randolph (Tuttlefh.com). In lieu of flowers Donations may be made to N.J. Former Troopers Heritage Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 7852, West Trenton NJ, 08628.
