Louis E. Potten, Sr., also known as “Gene”, 82, of Dover, NJ passed away on January 20, 2024, at Harmony Village of Care One in Whippany, NJ.

Louis was born in Flushing, Long Island on January 12, 1942, child of the late Herbert Potten and Grace Kelly Potten.

Before retirement, Louis worked for the United Parcel Service (UPS) as a Counter Clerk and Truck Driver. During his free time, he loved to work on his ’49 Ford. Louis would take it to car shows where he won many different trophies. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus of Sacred Heart Parish in Dover.

Louis is survived by his wife, Katherine Potten; his daughter, Shelly Potten Corkery and her husband Tom; his two sons, Louis Potten, Jr., and Craig M. Potten and his wife Jackie.

He is also survived by his five grandchildren: Alena (Jake), Dustin (Dani), Bethany (Scott), Zackary, and Cali, his six great grandchildren: Jaxon, Landon, Hailey, Lucy, McKenna, and Colson, and his twin brother, Herb.

Louis is predeceased by his sister Patricia.

Visitation Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a 12:00 PM Funeral Service at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Route 10, Randolph NJ (www.tuttlefh.com). Entombment to follow at Locust Hill Mausoleum in Dover.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor can be made to Harmony Village of Care One (101 Whippany Rd, Whippany NJ).
