Obituary of Grethel Mae McClanahan

Grethel McClanahan Born April 29, 1941 in Grundy, VA to McKinley and Brizzy Blankenship.

Beloved sister to Burl, Euegene, Madgie, Reatha, Oscar, John, Franklin, Theodore, Roosevelt, Lawerence and Matthew as well as countless aunts, uncles nieces and nephews.

Devoted wife of 49 years to Russel Boyd McClanahan who preceded her in death.

Loving mother to Hazel (Bob), Shirley (Mike), Elizabeth (Ted) and Pamela (Rob).

She loved all 13 of her grandchildren; Glorianne, Robert, Travis, Desaraye, Charlie, Qumaine, Ethan, Jordan, Tyler, Kyle, Chelsea, Austin and Hunter. And 5 Great-Grandchildren Ryleigh, Dorothy, Charlotte, Brayden and Titus.

Grethel worked for Dover Christian Nursing Home for over 20 years. She attended Grace United Methodist Church and volunteered at the thift shop. She also volunteered at Dover Senior Center.

Received her wings on Decemeber 19, 2023.

Graveside Service will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Randolph, NJ on Friday, December 22, 2023  at 11:00 AM.

If you are planning on attending, please meet in the Tuttle Funeral Home parking lot at 10:30 AM to go in the procession.
