Joseph Weissmann, 96, of White Plains, NY, passed away Sunday, March 15th, 2015 at Schnurmacher Nursing Home, White Plains, NY. Joe was born in Salzburg, Austria and has been a resident of White Plains since 2002, he formerly resided in Dover over 50 years. He was a self-employed Jeweler at Town Jewelers, Dover and retired in 1981 after 26 years.
Joe was affectionately known as "Joe the Jeweler" at his store located in Newberry's in Dover where he proudly served several generations of the same families. He was also a highly decorated veteran of the Soviet Army during WWII.
Survived by his three children Jeffrey and wife Jill of MD, Mark of NY State, and Eileen Simons and husband Richard of MA. Also survived by six grandchildren Adam, Michael, Eric, Lara, Rachel and Eliana and two great-grandchildren Yisrael Meir and Esther Leah.
Graveside Services will be Tuesday, March 17, 2015, 2:00 PM at Dover Mt. Sinai Jewish Cemetery, Randolph.
