Obituary of Daniel W. Gould

Daniel W. Gould Jr., 84, of Mine Hill, passed away Thursday, February 17th, 2011 at Mountainside Hospital, Montclair, following a long illness. Born in Dover, he has been a resident of Mine Hill since 1963, moved here from Wharton. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II, and was awarded the Bronze Star. He worked as a Financial Officer at Picatinny Arsenal, Rockaway Township, and retired in 1985 after 35 years. He volunteered for The Special Olympics and coached little league and recreation basketball in Mine Hill and Dover. He also helped run the Volunteers Basketball Camp with his sons. Survived by two sons: James D. of Mine Hill and David P. of Denville; one sister Patricia Gould Hunt and her husband John of Flanders and also his dog Dixon. Predeceased by his wife Patricia in 1992. Visitation Monday, February 21st, 2011, 3-5 & 7-9 P.M. at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. (www.tuttlefh.com). Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Dover.
