Obituary of Petronella Geerlof

Petronella Geerlof, 92, of Budd Lake, formally of North Bergen and Vernon New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Merry Heart Rehab facility in Succasunna, NJ.

She was born in Hoboken and worked as a Registered Nurse for St. Mary’s Hospital in Hoboken, NJ, for 41 years before retiring. She was a member of the XYZ club with St. Francis De Sales Church in Vernon, NJ, before moving to Budd Lake. She loved cooking, baking, and spending time with her family. 

She is survived by her two daughters Petronella and her husband Kevin, of Randolph, and Jacqueline and her husband James of Budd Lake; eight grandchildren Christina, Racquel, James, Thomas, Nicole, Gianna, Malia and Dina; seven great grandchildren Rylee, Ava, Rhett, Raegan, Aiden, Teagan and Gemma; her sister Lamberta and sister-in-law Betty. She is predeceased by her husband Thomas in 1997; daughter MaryGrace; grandson Ronald; brother Leo and her parents Leonardus and Maria.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022, 3:00-7:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, 10:30AM at Resurrection Parish, Randolph. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

In lieu of flowers, donation maybe made in her memory to the American Heart Association, National Kidney Foundation, American Cancer Society or Merry Heart Rehab and nursing facility in Succasunna, New Jersey.
