Death changes everything.
Time changes nothing.
I still miss the sound of your voice,
your laugh, the stories we shared
and just being in your presence.
So no, time changes nothing.
I still miss you just as much today
as I did the day you died.
I just miss you.

Gentry,
Today marks 6 months since you left us. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of you and wish you were here. I thought we still had all the time in the world...
"You were here for a while
In this crazy world
You were light in the darkness
Until you left without a trace
Life a warm blanket on a cold night
This is how you will be remembered
The way you used to make me smile
When I thought I didn’t need it
You would lighten up my world
This is how you will be remembered
For how fearless you lived your life
When you were scared, you still took the leap
Because you knew, you could always learn more
Life a warm blanket on a cold night
This is how you will be remembered
For how brave you always were
Not afraid of the unknown
You were calm in the storm
You were light in the darkness
This is how you will be remembered"

"I am no longer there, but I live in your heart.
And somethings remain exactly as it was before.
I am I and you are you. What we were to each other, that we still are….
Laugh as we always laughed at the silly stories we shared when we were together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me
Life goes on, so live yours the best you can. Enjoy it for the both of us. Make me proud!
I will be here waiting for you, somewhere very near, soon it will all be like it was before
And we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!"

2 months today..... it feels like it as an eternity since the last time I saw you.

I miss you in ways I never knew existed....

Gentry, I am still in disbelief about the news but I want to tell everyone here that you have been an amazing team mate and a delightful co-worker to work with. I knew for a fact that you are a very witty, funny guy and we would have spent more joke exchanges in our meetings. You will be truly missed.

It meant the world to me that Gentry accepted all my last minute invitations to meet up when I was traveling to New York.
I was impressed with his poise, presence and wit. I was so proud of my little cousin. I was totally unafraid to have him join me on business dinners and introduce him to co workers and customers. He charmed them all with his magnetic energy and laughter, and easily became the center of good times.
Sometimes the best thing a real friend can do is keep us in check. In very substantial ways Gentry inspired and motivated me, and kept me in check. He gave me courage to do hard things and the bravery to have some uncomfortable, tough conversations - to look at myself and take ownership. He reminded me that we don’t have to stay where we are. Change jobs, do the hard thing.
I am so grateful for Gentry, and so honored he was my cousin.

I knew Gentry for a brief period in High School and later became online friends with him through Drew in our gaming circle. Gentry was always fun to chat with and had a great sense of humor. I am grateful to have known him, he will be dearly missed. My deepest condolences to the Norman family.

Dr and Mrs Fielding.
My son and I had the pleasure of meeting Gentry as a bass guitarist in the band Streetlights. He had the cutest hairstyle almost 80ish in its style.
Dr. Fielding and I also have great memories of Gentry when he stayed in our home. Gentry was like the 5th son in our lives in the Fielding clubhouse on Jenny Jump mountain.

I spent some of my early twenties with both Gentry and Drew. Gentry was musically untouchable. Everything he did was gold. We all lost touch over time but I will always cherish the short time we all spent together. My condolences to my friend Drew and the whole family.

Although Gentry was in my life for only 3 years, I will never forget meeting him during our transition to Deloitte. He was one of the most welcoming, kind, intentional listeners I've ever met. He made me feel like home, even though I was halfway across the US from my family. One evening we decided to do dinner, just him and I. And we must have spent 3-4 hours just talking - no devices, no work jargon, just talking life, passions, important people in our lives. I remember leaving that conversation knowing immediately that Gentry was the kind of human I needed to keep in my life. Flashforward a few years and my wife and I moved to San Antonio - I remember calling Gentry for a Facetime chat out of the blue to show him our new home and spending another hour or two just chatting away like we hadn't skipped a beat. He was an optimist, he always had hope in his voice, which is such a gift to share with others in a world where sometimes we experience the opposite. He was so full of life, and will be missed by so many people. Praying for Gentry, his family, and every person impacted by this devastating loss. Thank you for allowing us to share our thoughts and memories, God bless you all.

I speak of my heroes often. Men that I lived with, ate with, laughed with and got into mischief with. It is my hope that many know them for the parts of them that I carry with me to this day. Though we never met, Drew spoke often of you to me. His normal jovial nature subsided and a serious tone would envelop the conversation. He loved you and spoke about how great you were in all things. In this I feel as if I know you and know that the world is less than for not having you in it anymore. You were one of Drew's heroes. You could tell by the timbre of his voice that you were a man worthy of respect, worthy of being listened to and worthy of emulating. May you always be remembered for the good you brought into this world, and now, in passing, forgiven for the failures that were all too human. May your family find peace and carry on with strength in your name, remembering and living with vigor in your name. In this, I hope that you are never forgotten and your memory be immortalized by those who knew you the best. Peace to you in your rest, and peace to your family who is no doubt struggling with the difficulty of your passing.

20 years ago today I graduated Infantry School, and you were just a boy.
10 years ago we would jam and then watch Lucas clumsily shuffle around and babble.
Last week we were competing against him in wordle and talking trash to him on discord.
Thank you for being an amazing uncle, brother and friend. I will always miss and love you, Ender.

To the family of Gentry Norman,
Please accept this donation in honor of the bright young man you raised. I had the pleasure of working with Gentry and served as his 'career advisor' at Protiviti. I often pushed him to figure out what he most enjoyed, and was very proud of him when he made a decision even though it didn't align with the type of work we could offer. He had a positive impact on everyone he came in contact with here, and we've all missed him. He was a truly unique and genuine soul, and I'm heartbroken for your loss.
With sadness I cannot attend the services, as I am currently down south celebrating my wife's grandmother's 90th birthday. I recently lost my father after a year long battle with cancer, but I can't imagine the weight of this shock. The pain we feel now may never truly leave us, but in those times we just need to cherish the time we have with the people we love. Please know that Gentry was loved, by you and by a long line of true friends and acquaintances.
John

Gentry was one of my first friends at Rutgers. He was such a genuine & laid back guy. We were friends on & off campus. I’ll never forget his witty sense of humor & super chill nature. I will be forever grateful that i had him in my life & honored that he was there for me on my wedding day. My sincerest condolences to his family & friends. We will all miss him dearly.

Gentry was my best friend when we went to Rutgers together. He was truly exceptional. I always liked to remind him how he scored in the 99th percentile in a finance career aptitude test. He was destined for greatness and taken too soon. Gentry changed the course of my life by convincing me to drop my lame finance major to study information systems ( widely regarded as the easiest curriculum at Rutgers but secretly the best compensated ). One of these days Gentry was going to start really hitting the gym and "getting big" as he promised when we made a deal that if I continued coding he would get buff. My first program I ever wrote was for Gentry, it calculated his BMI but also responded perfectly to questions about the program that I knew he'd ask. We often played pool in the Rutgers hall, Gentry quickly getting better than me of course ( not really ( really ) ).
Gentry and I went on a double date once, with my girlfriend ( now my wife ) and her best friend. He told hilarious storys about the decor of my bedroom that too him was more like a safari experience than a place to sleep. The memory of that double date stands out in our minds as both a great memory and a lesson - do not drink an entire bottle of champagne and play Mario kart all night.
Gentry was the type of guy to lovingly call you on your BS and as someone who spews a lot of it, he had to exercise that muscle often when we were together. He was so smart. He could see right through an idea, person or who a person was pretending to be.
Gentry and I also played world of warcraft together in college ( yes we were nerds ). He was a great guy to have around and similar to how he played pool he quickly became the benchmark.
I was glad to have such a wise friend during my time at Rutgers. His presence in my life changed it for the better. We had planned to get together soon after previously missing an opportunity when work came up. He was loyal, cool, kind hearted, and brilliant. He will be missed deeply and for the rest of my life.

Tuttle Funeral home was designed as a funeral home by funeral home architects and designers. Unllike many funeral homes that were originally old homes and then were converted into funeral homes.
Though it was designed as a funeral home, it still provides the warm comforting feeling of a home, but with more space and an open feeling.
