Dear Madelyn and family,
It’s September 2024, and I just learned of Vinny’s passing. He was and will always be Vinny to me, as we were in college together. I went to Douglass and met him at the TKE house at Rutgers my first weekend on campus.
He was a handsome, funny, and the life of every party. Kind, intelligent… all the good things. My heart is broken .
I hadn’t seen him since graduation, but have thought of him fondly through the years.
Please accept my sincere condolences.

I just saw this.
Vinnie and I played Pop Warner football together on the WNY Little Tigers. We resembled one another and we would switch uniforms to confuse our coaches.
So sorry for the loss.

I am so sorry I was unable to attend the services for Vince. I could say a lot about him, but I'll just say, in a few words my feelings toward him. He was a dedicated, fair, knowledgeable man. He was an outstanding First Assistant Prosecutor who equally treated his Investigators and Assistant Prosecutors with the same respect and was always supportive.
He often "went against the grain" to ensure that fairness and understanding were the foundations of our investigations and trials.
He was, in sum, a GOOD MAN who won the respect of all of us in the Prosecutor's Office and those he delt with in his private practice.
God bless him and his family. Sincerely and respectfully, Jack Farley. (LT (R) ECPO)

Dear Aunt Madelyn, Vanessa, and Matthew-
I’m sorry to hear about the passing of Uncle Vinny. I echo the sentiment from my brothers and sister that he was a memorable and impactful Uncle to us. Although I was not as fortunate as my siblings to spend extended periods of time with your family, some of my greatest memories to date are when you all would spend Christmas with us in Ft. Wayne. I remember sitting with Uncle Vinny talking about some of the interesting clients and cases he had worked on. His hunter green Jaguar was the coolest car I had ever seen at the time.
I will hang on to his positive memories forever. May you find peace in these difficult times. Take care,
Todd Owen

Dear Aunt Madelyn, Vanessa and Matthew,
I am so sorry for your loss and I hope this message reaches you.
My Uncle Vinny is my favorite uncle. This is normally a loaded statement, like picking your favorite child or picking your favorite sibling or parent. I often tease my mother-in-law about who is her favorite son-in-law. For me, it is an easy choice. It is not because my mom has two sisters and my dad had no siblings(making him my only uncle). It is because he is one of my favorite people and someone I looked up to during my formative years and throughout my life.
When I was young, visiting Aunt Madelyn and Uncle Vinny was my favorite trip of the year. Uncle Vinny took me to my first Yankees game and my first Giants game. Those were fun times, but it was the personal interactions that made the deepest impressions. I learned so much about hard work, giving people the benefit of the doubt and many other life lessons that can only come from someone you admire. I admired his drive and his will to create the best life possible. He was smart, funny and very compassionate.
When I entered college, I was able to "work" for Uncle Vinny for a short term my freshman year. I got to live with you guys and be with Uncle Vinny in the office every day. He was so great to me and tried to teach me all he could. Not necessarily about Law, but really about life. He was very high profile, but never failed to include me on discussions and learning experiences. This was all in 1990 and we would all sit on the couch in the evening and watch coverage of the Iraq War. This time is indelible for me and I still remember it like it was yesterday.
When my Dad passed in 2015, it reminded me how much he respected and cared for my Uncle Vinny. He often talked about times when LaVerne was up when Vinny brought Madelyn home or the four of you went out together. I am fortunate enough to have two brother-in-laws and I truly appreciate them and how they are my family. WIth my Dad having no siblings, Vinny was the closet he ever had to a brother.
I am getting pretty old myself and now my kids are grown. However, they still remember Uncle Vinny and talk about fishing with him. In Florida, they still talk about Uncle Vinny picking a can of corn out of the trash can and catching a bunch of fish with the corn. They thought he was a fishing master.
I have never been very good at keeping in contact with family, or even friends for that matter. I am going to blame that on the Inman side... I hope that you all find some peace after his passing. I loved him. I know that illness can bring many challenges, but I want to remember the good times and the true impact he had on me.
I hope that I can see you all sometime in the future.
Love,
Chad

Dear Mrs. Nuzzi and Family, I worked with Vince at Mandelbaum, Barrett awhile back. He was such a wonderful human being. So kind and caring and generous. Once he picked up sandwiches for me and a few others from Dickee Dees in Newark. Vince loved his family and also enjoyed talking about his grandchildren. It was a pleasure working with him. He will be missed. May he rest in peace. Marietta Sommer

Dear Uncle Jimmy and Family
We were all deeply sadden to hear the creeptive news regarding the progress of Vincent’s illness and his subsequent passing. I have been lucky to have been born into this wonderful family with dozens of first cousins. Vinny (as only the family could get away with referring to him) was very special to me, he was like an older brother to me growing up. Some of my first memories was of my father taking me to Vinny’s little league games where I’d get to go on the pony rides. Our families spend many holidays and vacations down the shore together. We went to his high school football games; I have a vivid memory of him catching a low throw pass in a cloud of dust at Miller Stadium. I always enjoyed our fishing and crabbing trips together with my father, even into adulthood. Vincent went on to Rutgers and got involved in politics starting with that Focus 71 campaign in West New York where he had me stuffing envelopes. Due to his influence I later also attended Rutgers and became politically active and worked on another campaign together in Essex County. As the years went on, we saw each other less but it was always the highlight of the day any time I ran into to him, Vinny was always glad to see you and had a way of making you feel good. With both of us living out here in Morris County many times I’d meet people that would ask me if I was related to him, and they would tell me what I great guy he was. I was always proud to tell them yeah that’s my cousin. It was very comforting to know Vinny was there for you if you needed him. I will miss him dearly and he will always be in my heart. He touched the lives of so many people, even people he has never met. Uncle Jim I can’t imagine how difficult this is for you I know how close he was to you he always would tell me that he ‘has a ball’ spending time with you. I hope you can take some comfort in knowing what a wonderful human being you raised and that he is together with Aunt Slyvia and Gerry. He is calling her big Syl right now.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you Madelyn and the kids.
Love
Joseph Vincent Nuzzi
