Obituary of Juan Jose Sanchez Zhimnay

Juan Jose “Pepe” Sanchez Zhimnay, 86, of Wharton, NJ, peacefully passed away on February 13, with his loving family by his side.

 

Juan was born on January 23, 1936 in Cuenca, Ecuador to the late Maria Rosario and Felix Sanchez.

 

Juan was married to Maria Mercedes Sanchez. The couple immigrated to New Jersey in 1981 and settled in Dover, where they built their life and raised their six children. He worked and retired from Warner Lambert in 1997.  He spent his retirement traveling for months to Ecuador his beloved home country and back to NJ to be with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He rarely missed a milestone.  
 

He was a gifted musician who could play the piano, accordion, and guitar.  He loved to sing and play music at church and around the fire pit at family parties. He was a devoted and faithful Catholic and raised his family to have faith and love for God.  He was very proud of his family and loved all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

 

He leaves to carry on his memory, his children, Jose Napoleon Sanchez, Linda Sanchez, Maria Leonor Sanchez, Javier Sanchez and his wife Douney, Maria Luisa Sanchez, and Jazmin Sanchez; grandchildren, Shirley Santiago (Edgar), Karen Ycaza, Sandy Grant (David), Jonathan Rodriguez (Phianka), Jessica Brocato, Kathleen Sanchez, Jennifer Sanchez, Christian Rodriguez and Ivan Rodriguez; great-grandchildren Adrian Vazquez, Jonah Ycaza, Ethan Santiago, Madison Santiago and Amalia Grant; brother, Luis Gerardo Sanchez and nieces and nephews.  Juan is predeceased by his parents, his brother, Felix Nico Sanchez and sister Laura Riofrio.

 

Family and friends will gather at Tuttle Funeral Home, 227 Highway 10, Randolph, NJ 07869, (tuttlefh.com) on Thursday, February 17th for visitation from 4:00-8:00 p.m.  A funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 18th at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart & Holy Rosario Parish, 4 Richards Avenue, Dover, NJ 07866.

 

Internment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover, NJ.

 

 Flowers are welcomed.
