Obituary of Rudolph DiGiacomo
Rudolph DiGiacomo, 92, of Rockaway Township, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at St. Clare’s Hospital in Dover, following a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Rudy was born in the Bronx, NY, to Joseph and Emily. He spent most of his early life in NYC, earning a BS from CCNY and an MS in chemistry from NYU, while also serving 8 years in the National Guard as a Sgt in the 991st FA Bn. Following graduation, he worked several years as a chemist for various laboratories before settling in Parsippany, NJ, where he worked 29 years for BASF as a manager in sales and product marketing. For 32 years he raised his family in Puddingstone Heights, Parsippany, before moving to Rockaway Township following retirement.
Among his interests, music was one of Rudy’s favorites. Blessed with a wonderful voice, he loved to sing, especially arias from his favorite operas. An animal lover, he was particularly fond of his 3 golden retrievers, Taffy, Sam, and Molly. He also enjoyed nature, photography, and gatherings with friends and family with good food and drink.
Above all else, Rudy was most passionate about family. A dutiful son, devoted husband and loving father, he worked to always provide the best life for his family. Always dependable and supportive, his time spent with his wife and children came before all else.
Rudy could always be counted on for his good humor and generosity. Friend or stranger, he would greet everyone with a smile or joke. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Rudy is survived by his loving wife Inge of 61 years; three children Paul David of Rockaway Township, Steven Michael and his wife Jennifer of Mount Olive, and Peter Andrew of Bethesda, MD; seven grandchildren Matthew, Lucas, Katherine, Christian, Connor, Alex and Carly.
