Obituary of Shirley Eleanor Ostendorf

Shirley Eleanor Ostendorf, loving mom, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family October 20, 2021. She was born in West Milford, NJ and later moved and resided in Cedar Knolls, NJ. For nearly 20 years Shirley was a switch board operator for Macy’s Livingston then moved on to become a loyal receptionist for Corporate Express until retirement. After retirement she enjoyed spending her time traveling, baking and making homemade soups for her grandsons, spending quality time with her family and friends, and her beloved cat and loyal companion “Eddie”. 

She was the devoted mother to Katherine Hines, Burnsville, MN and Donna Cudia (Joseph), Ledgewood, NJ. She is  survived by her sister Ann Jones, 5 loving grandchildren, Eric Hines (Katee), Michael Hines (Annie), Christopher Cudia, Derrick Cudia and Joseph (Jack) Cudia and 2 great grand children, William Hines and Benjamin Hines. She is predeceased by her parents David and Eleanor Jones and brother Robert Jones. 

A Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM, at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph. Inurnment Friday, October 29, 2021 12:00PM at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the St Jude's children’s hospital, Give hope to kids with cancer.
