Edith Varga, 85, of Dover, passed away Wednesday, June 20th, 2012 at Regency Grande Nursing Home, Dover, Mrs. Varga was born March 22, 1927 in Wharton to parents Ethel and Robert S. Worman. She worked as a Secretary to the Principal of Madison High School. She also worked at the Adult School at Dover High School, County College of Morris, and Morris School District. During the WWII Edith was a “Rosie the Riveter” at Picatinny Arsenal. Edith married LeRoy M. Varga of Dover, on September 15, 1951. She was the mother of David, Stephen, and Virginia Varga - Halkenhauser. Grandmother of Tera, Maxwell, Eva, Ashlyn, and Mathias. Edith was a member of the Junior Women’s Club, Senior Women’s Club in Dover. She was the Education Chairperson from 1992 to 2006, Cub Scout mother from 1966 to 1970, member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, member of the First Memorial Presbyterian Church of Dover, Presbyterian Women’s Circle, Deacon at the First Memorial Presbyterian Church of Dover, Radical Hospitality Committee, Dover Area Historical Society, one time treasurer. Her enjoyments in life were Genealogy Research of Bowlby and Uhlman Families Travel, Book Club gatherings, and Friends of Activities. Visitation Saturday, June 23, 2012, 1:00 – 5:00 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Service will follow at the funeral home at 5:00 PM. Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the First Memorial Deacons Fund, 51 West Blackwell Street, Dover, NJ 07801
