Obituary of Norman I. Swartz

Norman I. Swartz, 85, of Sparta, passed away Monday, April 9th, 2012 at home, following a long illness. Mr. Swartz was born in Dover and has been a resident of Lake Mohawk for over 60 years. He was a member of The First Presbyterian Church, Sparta. He served in the U.S. Navy as a salvage diver during WWII. Mr. Swartz was Co-owner/Mechanic at Swartz Motors, Dover. He was known as a "Jack of all trades", who loved fixing things around the house. He was an avid water skier, snow skier, ice skater, hockey player and sailor. He also loved fishing. In 2001 he was "Man of the Year" at the Kessler Institute of Rehabilitation in Chester. Survived by Margaret, his wife of 63 years; two daughters Cheryl Swartz and David Walloga of Budd Lake and Wendy Stoltman of Lake Mohawk; two sisters Eleanor Lattig of Randolph and Christine Seltzer and her husband Richard of Flanders. Predeceased by his son-in-law Frank Stoltman in December 2011 and his brother Herbert in January 2012. Visitation Thursday, April 12th, 2012, 3-5 & 7-9 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph. Funeral Services will be on Friday, April 13th, 2012, 11:00 AM at the funeral home (www.tuttlefh.com). Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to either the Karen Ann Quinlan Memorial Foundation, 99 Sparta Ave., Newton, NJ 07860 or The First Presbyterian Church, 32 Main Street, Sparta, NJ 07871.
