Jo was born and raised in Brooklyn, the loving daughter of Vincenzo and Josephine Valente. She was the devoted wife of James Dooley, who passed away in 1992. Josephine lived in the New York area for most of her life, worked as a legal secretary in New York City before moving to Deer Park to raise her family. She always loved Florida and moved to West Palm Beach in 1992 and then to Randolph, New Jersey in 2009.
Josephine was an outstanding cook and loved to host family gatherings filled with food and fun. In fact she was able to celebrate her 95th birthday last July with a large party of loved ones. Jo loved her grandchildren Jamie and Christopher more than you can imagine and spent a lot of quality time with both of them. While living at Morris View Healthcare Center, Jamie spent hours doing her nails and posting videos on Jo’s Instagram page. So many people have been touched by her beautiful personality, which embraced life and love and family.
The immediate family is having a private ceremony due to COVID19 but intends to celebrate her remarkable life at a later date when we can all gather again in fellowship. Burial will be at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery in West Palm Beach.
