Obituary of Kurt J. Buckner

Kurt J. Buckner, 49, passed away on the 12th of January, 2017 in Philipsburg, NJ. He was born in New Brunswick, NJ and was a long-time resident of New Jersey Kurt grew up in Randolph where he graduated from Randolph High School. In addition, he holds three degrees from Rutgers University and a Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. His most notable careers were with the Peapack-Gladstone Police Department, where he served for 10 years before retiring. Kurt worked the last part of his life bringing support and relief to those in need in a professional capacity as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Kurt will be most remembered for the small exchanges that he enjoyed with family and friends as well as strangers. He was known for his selfless, compassionate heart, quick wit, sense of humor, and his ability to inspire others to achieve their own greatness. Kurt is survived by his wife, Christine; two stepsons, Kyle and Bryan; his daughter, Katherine of Ohio; his brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Cassi of Georgia; two nieces, Caroline and Rachel of Georgia; and his mother, Janet Sharon Buckner of Randolph, NJ. Kurt was preceded in death by his father, Barry Buckner. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Route 10 West, Randolph, NJ between the hours of 4pm and 8pm. Private services will be held on Thursday.
