Obituary of Robert L Hughes

Robert L Hughes, Sr., 94, of Flanders, passed away Saturday, November 12th, 2016 at his home. Robert was born in Amarillo, Texas, he resided in Mine Hill for 56 years and has been a resident of Flanders since 2012. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II in the European, Asiatic and Philippine Theatres. He was a member of the Tin Can Sailors and the Mine Hill American Legion Post #391. He worked as a Bus Driver for NJ Transit, Summit and he retired in 1981 after 35 years. Robert was a former parishioner of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Wharton. He is survived by his children Bob and his wife Cindy of NV, Carol Osborne and her husband Harold of Flanders; two grandsons Jonathan Osborne and Christopher Hughes and his great- grandson Saige Osborne. He is predeceased by his wife Julia Chirip Hughes in 2012 and his grandson Justin Osborne in 2010. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 Noon also at the funeral home. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
