Obituary of Gertrude Marie Peterson

Gertrude “Trudy” Peterson, 75, of Randolph, passed away following a long illness on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at St. Clare’s Hospital, Denville.
Trudy was born in Jersey City and resided in Cranberry Lake, Mine Hill, and Mount Arlington. She graduated from Newton High School and worked as a secretary, most recently at St. Therese School in Succasunna prior to her retirement. She was a loving grandmother and, prior to her illness, enjoyed spending time with friends at the Carriage Club Apartments in Mount Arlington.
She is survived by her two sons Carl Peterson III of Bethesda, MD and Rex Peterson and his wife Peggy of Hopatcong; two grandchildren Rex Jr. and Teah; two brothers George Dowdell of Savannah, TN and Edward Dowdell and his wife Patricia of Belvidere. She was predeceased by her husband Carl Peterson, Jr. in 2009 and her sister Virginia Mackerley.
Visitation Saturday, March 17, 2018 12:00-3:00PM with a service at 3:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com).  Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.
