Obituary of Walter J. Meisner

Walter J. Meisner,85 of Ledgewood passed away on Thursday,October 21, 2010 at the Compassionate Care Hospice at Saint Clare's Hospital in Dover after a short illlness. Mr. Meisner lived in Ledgewood for 37 years,prior to that he had lived in Jersey City, where he was also born. He was a Stock Clerk for Varityper in East Hanover until his retirement in 1990, he also worked many years as a Bellman for the Hotel Manhattan in NYC. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post # 391 of Mine Hill, the D.A.V. Post # 63 of Dover and was a parishioner of St. Therese R.C. Church in Succasunna. He is survived by Eleanor,his beloved wife of 63 years. His two sons:Joseph J. of Ledgewood and Robert of Bluffton,S.C.. His daughter: Sharon Leone of Hackettstown and also his Granddaughter Tara Meisner of Mt. Arlington. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2010 from 2-6 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Route 10 West,Randolph www.Tuttlefh.com The Funeral Mass will be on Monday,October 25, 2010 at 10:00AM at St. Therese R.C. Church in Succasunna. Entombment will follow at the Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in East Hanover.In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to: The American Cancer Society,Eastern Division Inc.,Attn: Memorial Processing Center, 6725 Lyons St., PO Box 7, East Syracuse,NY 13057
