Harry Stephen Aten, Jr.,loving husband,father and grandfather Mr. Harry Stephen Aten, Jr., 84,of Mendham Twp. passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the Compassionate Care Hospice at Saint Clares Hospital in Dover after a short illness. Born in Binghampton,NY, he was a resident of Mendham Twp. since 1988, prior to that he had lived in Dover. He worked as an Electrician for L.E. Carpenter & Co. in Wharton for over 40 years,retiring in 1986.He served as a U.S. Marine in the Pacific Theater during World War II.He was a member of Prospect Lodge # 24 F. & A.M. in Chester and served as Worshipful Master in 1979 and also as a clown with the Shriners. Member of the Mendham Twp. Pastime Club Bowling League. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting and nature. Survived by his daughter Sherri Betsy and her husband David Pollak of Mendham Twp., his two grandchildren Stephanie Betsy and her husband Aaron Gartrell of Union Bridge,MD and Sean Betsy of Mendham Twp., and his brother Raymond Aten of Florida. He was predeceased by his wife Gerry in 1992. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2010 from 3-5 & 7-9pm at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Route 10 west, Randolph. www.Tuttlefh.com Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 10:00am also at the funeral home.The interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Randolph.
